I don't know what kind of Thanksgiving menu conversations you have in your household, but our always focus on what to serve for the mains, sides, and desserts, and not so much the appetizers and hors d'oeuvres. I've been to dinners that serve cheese and/or heavy dips to whet the palate. Love them, but honestly that just means less room for all the other goodness. So I've been brainstorming with my brother ideas of what "lighter" fare we can serve before we get down and dirty with the turkey. What did we come up with? Fresh oysters and smoked fish dip, which I may find myself consuming loads of. But instead of crackers, I think I'm going to serve chia chips. A sample happened upon my desk recently and I've been consuming them like crazy. Lesser Evil's Chia Crisps come in three flavors, my favorite being the Feta and Black Olive. They are crispy, airy, and sort of cheesy. I also predict that they will go beautifully with white-fish dip. What non-filling appetizers/hors d'oeuvres will you be serving tomorrow?
