Survey: Owning trumps renting

Phoenix-area residents have mixed feelings about homeownership, with most thinking it's better to own than rent but fewer than half finding it attainable for the middle class.In the survey of 500 Phoenix-area residents by Country Financial, a solid majority, 88 percent, said they believe owning a home is important. Yet only 46percent said homeownership is attainable for middle-income families. Also, 47 percent said buying a home is the best investment families can make.
