Celebrities don't always make the best nutritionists, which is evident by the British Dietetic Association's (BDA) annual list of the five celebrity diets to avoid this holiday season. If you want to lose a few pounds between your Christmas feast and New Year's Eve celebrations, here's what not to do.
5. The Six Week OMG Diet
This diet consists of cold water baths, no food until after 10 AM and absolutely no fruits or snacks.
4. Alcorexia/Drunkorexia Diet
This one is pretty self-explanatory. You don't eat during the day to save your calories and then binge drink at night. Definitely not the best way to lose weight (or be healthy in any way).
3. Party Girl IV Drip Diet
So apparently people are resorting to getting their nutrients from an IV drip rather than eating food to help them lose weight. This, of course, will just make you dizzy, inflame your veins and give you the risk of infection.
2. The KEN (Ketogenic Enteral Nutrition) Diet
This diet consists of not eating and getting liquid nutrients pumped into your body through a pipe attached to your nose. Not only will your body lack in fiber, but you will also have to carry the bag of 'food' with you everywhere you go.
1. Dukan Diet
The Dukan Diet is fairly complicated, involving several cycles and restricts food based on the category of your cycle. It's takes up too much time, keeps energy low and can even result in bad breath.
