Phoenix Children's Hospital on Tuesday said it will launch a new effort to use the tools of genomic medicine to aid children with difficult-to-treat cancers.
The hospital so far has raised about $12 million for the newly-created Ronald A. Matricaria Institute of Molecular Medicine. It wants to raise $50 million in philanthropy, grants and hospital funding and expects to begin treating children within one year.
