One day last summer, the phone rang at the Encinitas home of veteran actor Robert Foxworth. It was his agent calling with an offer for the central role of Lyman Wyeth in the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play ?Other Desert Cities? at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Just a couple of hours later, the phone rang again. This time, it was the Old Globe Theatre, calling to offer the same role in the same play next spring in San Diego.
