Phoenix-based components distributor Avnet Inc. is looking to expand its presence in the defense and aerospace industries by agreeing to purchase a Florida firm that supplies components to the military.Avnet officials on Thursday said the company will acquire nearly all assets of Fort Lauderdale-based Universal Semiconductor Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
