We asked Mayor Michael Nutter's photographer, Kait Privitera, to share some of her favorite photographs from her 2012 out and about with the Mayor.
"I started shadowing the Mayor as a photo intern in June of 2010 while I was studying photojournalism at Temple University. I was one of two interns that was picked for a program that was created to try and capture some of the "behind-the-scenes" moments of the Mayor and his staff. It's now nearly 3 years later, and I am one of two city photographers assigned to the same task. The ultimate goal is to document Philadelphia history as it unfolds and to show its citizens the inner workings of city government. I've come to learn that there are no typical days in the life of a Mayor, that this city is beautifully diverse, and that to say it's progressing is an understatement. These are a few of my favorite moments from 2012."
