Plane Carrying Vittorio Missoni, Head of Fashion House, Missing Off Venezuela

January 5, 2013

Vittorio Missoni, co-owner of Missoni and the eldest son of the Italian label's founders, took off in a twin-engine plane off the coast of Venezuela on Friday and hasn't been seen since. The New York Times is reporting a sea and air rescue mission began today to try and find the missing plane carrying Vittorio, along with his wife Maurizia Castiglioni, another couple and two crew members.

“The Missoni family has been informed by the Venezuelan Consulate that Vittorio Missoni and his wife are missing, but we don't know any more,' a Missoni spokeswoman, Maddalena Aspes, said.
