Art Auctions Paint a Mixed Picture

Christie's said it sold $6.3 billion of fine and decorative art last year, up 10% from a year earlier and a record for the company. Rival Sotheby's said it auctioned $4.4 billion of art during the same period, down 12% from 2011.
