Raf Simons' debuting a new collection from his post at Christian Dior is just about the only fashion event that could distract me from the OOC chicness coming from today's inaugural events. Below, five style lessons to take away from the fashion house's spring 2013 couture offering, which hit the runway in Paris just this morning.
It's all about your shape. Christian Dior's signature curve-enhancing gowns and cocktail dresses encourage women to play up their natural shape. One word: amen!
Feeling blah? You need a pair of tights. Whether opaque black or sobert-hued, a pair of statement tights will make your party frock pop.
Remember these important Ps: pixie cuts, pointy heels, pockets. Three outfit upgrades that'll make you stand out from the crowd.
Your menswear moment: matador-chic. The narrow cuts and flashy fabrics of traditional matador uniforms were made for a cocktail party or night out.
A recipe for insta-chic: mix black and pastel colors. Not only does this color combo feel fresh, it's also an easy way to make the transition from winter into spring.
Voila! What do you think of Christian Dior's spring 2013 couture collection? Would you wear any of these looks?
