Avnet quarterly earnings bounce back

Phoenix-based technology firm Avnet Inc. reported significantly improved quarterly financial results Thursday compared with the company's two previous quarters. Fiscal second-quarter profits for Avnet, which sells electronic components and helps companies implement various technology solutions, beat analyst expectations during the quarter that ended Dec. 29.
