Pilot Who Was Tossed Out Of An Alaska Bar Thought To Be Fatally Injured

Had A Taxi Take Him To His Airplane Rather Than A Hotel It's pretty well known that alcohol and airplanes are a deadly combination. In October, a pilot who was asked to leave a bar in Soldotna, AK, told the taxi driver called by his friend and fellow pilot that he was going to sleep in his PA-18 rather than a local hotel. But according to the NTSB's factual report on the accident, the student pilot, who was reported to be intoxicated, apparently decided to try to return to his home airport in Palmer rather than sleep in the plane. He and the Super Cub have been missing since October 13.
