Arizona business leaders celebrated Monday's proposed framework for immigration reform, calling it a key step toward addressing economic issues ranging from agricultural-labor needs to retaining graduates who earn advanced degrees.
The principles were agreed upon by eight U.S. senators, including Arizona Republicans John McCain and Jeff Flake. McCain's and Flake's participation is notable because of Arizona's controversial image on immigration tied to its passage of aggressive enforcement laws, most notably Senate Bill 1070.
