Hung jury in Ponzi-scheme case

An eight-year legal case against the alleged perpetrators of a $160million Ponzi scheme targeting wealthy Mormons took a new twist this week with a hung jury. Jurors hearing the case against Duane Slade, founder of defunct Mathon Investments, and two co-defendants told judge Jack Zouhary that they couldn't reach a verdict in the trial that began in early January in federal district court in Phoenix, said Dennis Wilenchik, Slade's attorney.
