Far Rockaway residents and officials call Verizon tone deaf to prolonged phone outage

A group of Rockaway residents without phone service since Superstorm Sandy say the only open line of communication has been the monthly bills. Residents of the Ocean Bay development in Far Rockaway are angry with telephone company Verizon after suffering through disabled landline service since the storm struck.
