Low inventory sinks Bay State home sales in Feb.

A dip in single-family home sales last month was due to demand outpacing supply, a trend that could spell trouble in the months ahead if it continues, experts told the Herald.

After 13 straight months of rising sales volume, the number of single-family home sales in Massachusetts dropped 5 percent from February 2012 to 2,246 last month, according to data compiled by The Warren Group.
