DIY Idea: Sarah Jessica Parker Shows Us How to Update a Black Blazer for Spring

March 28, 2013

Remember when Sarah Jessica Parker wore this giant flower on her hair at the New York City Ballet fall gala? Well, last night at the opening of Target at Shoppers World in Toronto, the actress and all-around fashion-guru rocked another oversize flower, this time a little South, on her shoulder.

I have major separation anxiety when it comes to leaving my black blazer behind come warm weather, but this genius idea is the perfect way to keep the black style feeling fresh for spring (plus, if there's anyone I would take a style tip from, it'd be SJP).

All you need to get this look (and wow everyone in your office) is attach a large flower to your blazer. has a super pretty selection of blooms you can easily pin on (more on that below), or for a cheaper option, you can snoop around a fabric store. So grab your glue guns and go!

Pom pom flower, $15,

Pop flower, $45,

Tiny pom pom set, $15,

What do you think of SJP's flower-adorned blazer? Would you ever do this?
