Target is in the news again but this time, it's not about a new collaboration. Eagle-eyed Target shopper Susan Clemens recently spotted an unfortunate discrepancy on the store's Web site related to two Mossimo dresses, one plus size and the other regular sized. She noticed that "Dark Heather Gray" was the color used to describe a regular-sized dress while that very same shade for the plus size version was called "Manatee Gray." Susan Tweeted this to her followers:
Over Twitter, Target responded to Susan:
Apparently Manatee Gray is a color that's used to describe many products on Target's website but in this case, "two different teams of buyers responsible [were] for the “missy' and plus-size product lines, and the teams didn't coordinate when they inputted the product information for the site. One team apparently used the color's official name, while the other eyeballed it."
“We apologize for any discomfort this might have caused and are working to update the name of the dress to reflect Dark Heather Gray,' the spokesman told Forbes. “This was an unfortunate oversight and we'll take it into consideration moving forward.' Yikes! Well, kudos to Target for responding quickly and fixing the problem.
What's your take on the dress drama at Target? Are you glad Susan brought this dress discrepancy to light? Discuss!
