Spring 2013 Trend Alert: Fresh-Picked Fruits

April 8, 2013

Now that Spring is in full swing, let's take a look at one of the biggest trends of the season. From Jil Sander?s varsity letter appliqués to Fendi?s Lego-inspired heels, any snob worth her salt enjoys a good dose of campiness. Dolce & Gabbana revealed the fruits of their labor for their Spring ?12 collection last year, recommending not-so-wholesome eggplants, zucchinis, and tomatoes with a dash of Italian sex appeal. Now a new crop of designers have farmed some fruit for Spring ?13. And this time, it?s all super-glam and evening-ready.

Anya Hindmarch tempts with her Garden of Eden-worthy apples and golden-ripe pears, and you can always count on Judith Leiber to deliver enjoyable kitsch, especially in the form of a bedazzled pear. If healthy snacks aren?t your thing, indulge your ice-cream cravings with her sundae clutches. These trinkets will look way better on the dinner table than whatever?s been ordered come dessert time! I'm suddenly sweet on Spring 2013. What about you?
