Foxwoods casino proposal faces strong opposition in Milford

The Milford Board of Selectmen last night raked Foxwoods Resort and Casino over the coals for showing up with few details about its proposal to build a casino in town.Foxwoods Resort and Casino President and CEO Scott Butera said the $1 billion proposed project would be located off Interstate 495 and include 350 to 400 luxury hotel rooms.

Roadways in the vicinity would need to be improved, an exit ramp off 495 leading to the casino would need to be built, and Foxwoods would spend its money to provide water and sewer connections, Butera said.
