Prada is holding a contest to support the next generation of promising writers. Prada is asking willing participants to write a short story on this topic: "What are the realities that our eyes give back to us?" It's a play on prescription glasses (the Italian fashion house sells glasses) and how they can be used "as a tool which to see and investigate new creative words and enhance the individual interpretation of reality."
The winner will get approximately $6,558 in prize money and Prada will publish the submission as a digital book that will be available on Prada.com.
Submissions of at least 10 pages are due June 18 on prada.com/journal. Entries will be judge on creativity, innovation, thoroughness, depth of inquiry, adherence to the theme of the contest and the quality of the story.
