Crystal Renn has made her name in the modeling business not only for serving as the face of numerous ad campaigns (most recently, she's been photographed for Free People and Agent Provocateur) but she's also developed quite a following for her push to change the sample size from an unrealistic 0 to and 8 and overall, for pushing the business to adopt a healthier body image standard.
Now, it seems very possible that she could add acting to her resume. When I caught up with her last night, at premiere of the short film "As Good as Gold," which was held to celebrate the new MAGNUM Gold?! Ice Cream bar, she said she's very recently "signed on with someone to study acting." Of course, I figured this meant she was considering a move to Hollywood but she said that's not necessarily going to happen. "I'm studying acting as an experiment," she said. "I'm interested in learning how to go to another level in what I already do. I want to go deeper."
If she does change her mind about acting, she will be in good company. Several models have made the leap to Hollywood, including Amber Valletta, Channing Tatum and January Jones. Also, I've heard rumors that Kate Upton might sign on for a film with Cameron Diaz.
Do you want to see Crystal Renn make a move to Hollywood? Is she one of your favorite models?
