Sales-tax revenue from auto dealers is revving up

New automobile dealerships promise to bring in more revenue to Scottsdale's growing sales-tax coffers from the sale of new and used autos. Auto-related tax revenues to the city have steadily increased in recent years, from $13.9 million in fiscal 2010 to $15.9 million in fiscal 2012. The city anticipates receiving $17.8 million in sales-tax revenue from auto sales for the current fiscal year that ends June 30.
