Owner concerned about cyst on young cat?s neck

Dear Dr. John,

I adore my 4-year-old cat, but between the hairballs and shedding, I sometimes find myself wondering why.

The reasons I am writing is to ask your opinion about this fluid-filled cyst that my cat has on the back of her neck and how often I should have my cat seen and vaccinated. My vet drains the cyst every year when I take her in for her checkup and shots. It usually doesn?t take too long for it to fill back up, and then it remains the same until the next visit.
