As a redhead, I usually shy away from pink—especially when it comes to wearing it head-to-toe. I don't want to blind anyone.
But Oscar de la Renta's Resort 2014 collection, presented this week in New York City, was so sweet I'm starting to rethink my aversion.
The designer paired bright bubble-gum pink with the prettiest, palest blush hue—and the results were not only gorgeous but also totally wearable.
The key to making double pink work (and really any scary color combo) is to wear the light color on top and let the more adventurous hue be the star on the bottom. Then there's no need to worry about the bright color competing with your hair or washing out your face.
Bonus points if you add vivid fuchsia shoes, red lipstick, and a cool mesh hair bow!
Of course, if you've never shied away from bright pink to begin with, then you're one step ahead of the trend (which, by the way, was all over the fall 2013 runways). I'm very jealous.
Especially because that means you wouldn't be afraid to wear something like this unbelievably glamorous hot pink concoction:
