Massachusetts foreclosures tick up, but still far below 2012 numbers

Home foreclosures in Massachusetts rose slightly in April, but are still significantly lower than one year ago, according to a new report.

The report, released by the Warren Group today, said the state saw 370 foreclosure petitions in April, down from 1,750 in April of 2012, a nearly 79 percent decrease.

April?s numbers are slightly higher than March, a month that saw 284 foreclosure petitions filed.

From January to April, petitions are down 60 percent from the same time period last year, the report said.
