Oct 30, 2017 | Contributor: Glenn Harris Less than an hour’s drive south from the manic pace of Melbourne, Australia is the Mornington Peninsula. A beautiful stretch of earth with crystal blue waters on each side, verdant national parks and quaint seaside towns. In the middle of the peninsula is a breathtaking mountain range that vacillates between lush, green forests and picturesque farmlands, with cattle, sheep, all manner of vegetables and, of course, the grape. ... Jun 24, 2016 | Contributor: Marissa Stempien Who are you wearing? It’s the most popular question on the red carpet, and while it feels like a very personal question about the actress and her style choices on what could potentially be the biggest night of her life, it’s far from it. ... Read More |
Jun 14, 2016 | Contributor: Jackie Bryant The “World’s 50 Best” list has named Modena, Italy’s Osteria Francescana the best restaurant in the world for 2016, dethroning Girona, Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca, now sitting at number two. This is Chef Massimo Bottura and his restaurant's first appearance at the top of the list. There were other surprising moves: Copenhagen, Denmark’s Noma, which had jockeyed with El Celler de Can Roca for the top spot over the last few years, moved in to the number five spot—its first time out of the top five since 2009. New York’s Eleven Madison Park made its highest appearance at n... Read More |
Jun 13, 2016 | Contributor: Jackie Bryant Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be surrounded by a group of French chefs? For true gourmands, this is the stuff of dreams. The Maîtres Cuisiniers de France- Académie Culinaire de France held its Annual Congress and gala this past week in San Diego and JustLuxe was there, taking it all in. The gala was the valedictory event of a long weekend spent at The Ranch at Bandy Canyon in rural San Diego County. The goal of the Congress is to bring North American French chefs together to celebrate the year's achievements and the successes of their colleagues while attending workshops to improve their crafts. The attendees include chefs and others working in food and beverage around th... Read More |
May 23, 2016 | Contributor: Marissa Stempien To be honest, we don’t expect much from the Billboard Music Awards red carpet. The show is great, the performance are awesome and for the most part, the awards are given to some pretty deserving artists. ... Read More |
Feb 29, 2016 | Contributor: JustLuxe Team Finally, Leo. Finally you nabbed an Oscar. Without a doubt our favorite part of the night was DiCaprio winning that coveted golden statue (Kate Winslet’s reaction was a close second). The star was clearly the talk of the evening and while everyone was buzzing about the actor’s win, we were swooning over how good he looked in his dark Armani suit. ... Read More |
Feb 16, 2016 | Contributor: JustLuxe Team The Grammys red carpet is known for being pretty hit or miss and last night was a perfect example of the power of a good (or bad) dress. Celebrities were either a total win or an absolute disaster—there was no in between. And sorry Taylor Swift, but you’ve made the worst-dressed list this season. That pink Versace Atelier number is doing you zero favors. ... Read More |
Feb 1, 2016 | Contributor: JustLuxe Team The great thing about awards season is seeing our favorite celebrities hit the red carpet in some of the most elegant dresses we’ve ever seen. But that didn’t happen at this weekend’s SAG Awards. Instead we got something much better. What is normally a parade of safe black and white gowns transformed into a daring rainbow of color, from deep cerulean to a touch of pale lavender. ... Read More |
Jan 12, 2016 | Contributor: JustLuxe Team The Golden Globes have come and gone, and we loved this year's red carpet dresses, but the best moments of the night didn’t end there. After-parties are where stars get to let loose and just be themselves. Whether it was Selena Gomez casually chatting up Brad Pitt or Kate Bosworth puckering up with her bestie, we loved seeing all our favorite celebs hanging out and being fabulous together. ... Dec 10, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich The 2016 Golden Globe nominations were finally announced today by Angela Bassett, Chloë Grace Moretz, America Ferrera and Dennis Quaid. The list of picks carry many obvious choices and a few weird surprises. It’s no secret that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association picks a handful of favorite films and TV shows, and then basically nominates everyone involved in as many categories as possible. ... Nov 23, 2015 | Contributor: Marissa Stempien At this point we’ve seen almost everything on the red carpet. From the jaw-dropping gowns that have us buzzing weeks later, to cringe-worthy meat dresses, we’d like to think that nothing surprises us anymore. But last night, the gowns that hit the American Music Awards’ red carpet were downright sinful. ... Read More |
Oct 1, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Michelin announced its 2016 ratings for New York restaurants yesterday, bringing the total up to 76 honored establishments. Though the three-star list has been left untouched and The Modern was the only newcomer to the two-star list, a whopping 10 restaurants have been awarded their very first star. ... Read More |
Sep 21, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Last night’s Emmys were a big deal and it has nothing to do with Game of Thrones. Viola Davis made history last night as the first black actress to win the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her role on How to Get Away with Murder. Even if she hadn’t won, the nomination alone was a big deal since it was the first time more than one black actress had been nominated in the category at once—Empire’s Taraji P. Henson was the other nominee. ... Read More |
Sep 21, 2015 | Contributor: Marissa Stempien Last night’s Emmys was a whirlwind of Andy Samberg skits, historic wins and Game of Thrones dominance, but what really stood out were the designer dresses pulled straight from the runway. ... Read More |
Aug 31, 2015 | Contributor: Marissa Stempien Last night’s Video Music Awards were a total clusterf*ck of fashion, celebrities and music. From Miley Cyrus’ nip-slip to Kanye West’s 12-minute long acceptance speech/apology/presidential bid (seriously could no one play that guy off?) the award show was a glorious disaster from start to finish. ...
