InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Partners with National Geographic for Responsible Business Week

To show its continued to commitment to year-round environmental responsibility, for the third annual Responsible Business Week, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has partnered with National Geographic. Since 2010 the initiative has attracted 250 events around the world wishing to support eco-tourism. According to the brand, "This year, UNESCO has joined the cause with the sustainable tourism initiative 'People Protecting Places' designed to protect and preserve the natural and cultural environments around the globe. To encourage environmental friendly practices for each individual property, IHG developed the online sustainability system Green Engage. Fairmont Hotels Participate in California Coastal Cleanup Day

Drive only an hour from Geneva Airport, to Dents du midi in the Swiss Alps and you will find an interesting place called The Whitepod Resort. There are 15 igloo-like domes each equipped with its own freestanding wood burner, king-sized beds dressed in organic bedding, and full service bathrooms. The side of each pod that is facing down the mountain is made of translucent material, making the view of the sunrise incredible.
