O Captain! My Captain! Robin Williams Will Be Missed

Aug 11, 2014  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

Robin Williams has meant so much to so many people and we're absolutely gutted by the loss. The news of his death has rolled across the world rapidly, popping up on every news outlet and text message, and it's one that no one was prepared for. The 63-year-old lifted us up and made us all lighter the more we laughed, and the thought that he was weighed down with his own sadness breaks our hearts. 20,000 Days on Earth Investigates Nick Cave's Psyche & Boldly Redefines the Music Documentary Genre

Jul 18, 2014  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

There's a scene in 20,000 Days on Earth in which Nick Cave chauffeurs Kylie Minogue around Brighton in a black 1980s Jaguar XJ as she reflects back on having first met him. The front passenger seat is left open for us, the audience, as an invitation into a music documentary that's not quite real. In fact, everything you see has been constructed and the car you're in is more like a dream. Though the ambitious film is artistically pieced together and wrapped in fiction by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard—and co-written by Cave himself—it's actually the most beautifully honest reflection of art's transformative power you may ever see.

Sweet-faced Colin Hanks stars in his toughest role yet in Fargo, the original FX adaptation of the Academy Award-winning feature film. Rather than attempt a remake, writer Noah Hawley reinvents Fargo with an all-new crime story featuring a new case and new characters — all entrenched in the trademark humor, murder and “Minnesota nice” that made the film an enduring classic. Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton stars as Lorne Malvo, a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small town insurance salesman Lester Nygaard, played by BAFTA winner Martin Freeman (SherlockThe Hobbit).
