The luxury fashion world is notorious for being tied to charities, non-profit organizations, and the overall mission to help those in need. Luxury designer Michael Kors is doing his part by launching an exclusive long-term partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, which aims to help solve the international hunger crisis. Kors' involvement will produce two new unisex watches— a $295 smaller model and a $325 larger version— that will allow for 100 children to be fed through WFP for each watch that is sold. Legendary horologist and founder of luxury watch company Breguet, Abraham-Louis Breguet made timekeeping history in 1801 with the invention of a much-needed, but highly complex watch mechanism. Seeing the adverse effect gravity had on reliable timekeeping, he created the tourbillon— an escapement housed within a mobile carriage that performs a complete rotation every couple of minutes.
