A large majority of hotel renovations are focused on giving guests the latest and greatest aesthetics and adding new technology to their offerings, such as touchscreen devices to walls throughout rooms and passageways. However, Chicago's Palmer House Hilton's $215 million restoration went the opposite direction and returned their centenarian structure to its original splendor and updated its former spaces back to their previous magnificence.
