Mar 4, 2013 | Contributor: Tina Stewart It seems pretty apparent that DSquared2's latest ready-to-wear collection is honoring the post-war glam of the Forties, channeling the sensual looks found in the smoke-filled jazz clubs of the era. Luxury designers Dean and Dan Caten tap into the vibrant period to draw inspiration for their women's fall line, featuring an array of accessories combined with a wide palette of rich colors and textures. All-in-all, the result is a collection with looks that are truly over-the-top.... Read More |
Feb 22, 2013 | Contributor: Tina Stewart As a designer, Marc Jacobs is known for imitating the street style of the cool kids. Previously borrowing elements of grunge and punk for his designs, Jacobs is at it again with his Fall luxury menswear collection for 2013. Reaching back through time to the 1950's, the men's clothing for Marc by Marc Jacobs might remind some onlookers of their younger days, when they sifted through racks of tuxedo pants, windbreakers, rockabilly blazers, and the patterned suits. Although not groundbreaking, the collection does take us back to a style that was revolutionary in its day.... Read More |
Feb 13, 2013 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari Boyish and modern, the DKNY Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection for men remains in line with previous collections by the luxury brand with a youthful urban appeal that manages to uphold a structured and professional aesthetic. Living in the city gives way to many quality experiences that others covet— including access to some of the best food in the world, top-notch events practically every night of the week, and a wide array of interesting characters to converse with. But when it comes to dealing with the cold winter months, the task of maintaining a put together look that is both functional and warm is anything... Read More |
Jan 30, 2013 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari Givenchy’s talented luxury designer, Riccardo Tisci, is perhaps best known to the general public for his ferocious graphics. Last season, for example, his angry dog T-shirt was worn by a multitude of celebrities and subsequently found scattered all throughout the blogosphere. While this season’s menswear collection for fall still features interesting graphics, they are far less "rabid dog" and much more religious and reminiscent of Latin culture.... Read More |
Jan 18, 2013 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh Last week I wrote about luxury fashion shows that take place all over the world— and this week, Berlin was the latest to host the prestigious Mercedes-Benz sponsored event over in Germany. A number of talented designers— both established and up-and-coming— showed the collections that they’ve spent the last year pouring their hearts and souls into. And from what we can tell, Berlin Fashion Week is giving the Big Four a run for their money. Here, a few highlights that we’ve seen so far from the event, which started Tuesday and runs through Sunday.... Read More |
Jan 16, 2013 | Contributor: Tara Imperatore Sleek and chic cocktail dresses and gorgeous flowing gowns are usually what we see walk the runway at Giambattista Valli’s luxury fashion shows; even Jessica Biel agrees, wearing a custom pink couture creation for her nuptials. And while critics have raved over these beautiful creations through the years, the Italian designer is mixing things up in his Pre-Fall 2013 collection, ‘Parisian girl meets the Manhattan boy,’ with masculine touches that elevate even the most simple silhouettes to a new level of sophistication.... Jan 7, 2013 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari It’s all in the details – a style code that is simple, straightforward and most importantly, strikingly accurate. Born in Washington D.C. but raised in Paris, luxury designer, Nour Hammour, certainly understands this concept as it is expertly utilized in all of her exquisite designs.... Read More |
Dec 3, 2012 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari One could easily say that the classic holiday flick "Home Alone" has affected us all in one way or another; whether it be a season staple and family tradition, or simply a reminder of how cute Macaulay Culkin used to be (seriously, what happened?), most can say this quirky film will always have a soft spot in their heart. It looks as if American fashion designer Derek Lam and his design director Liz Giardina are in the same boat, as it is what first inspired the 10 Crosby RTW Fall 2012 luxury collection.... Nov 28, 2012 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari Exaggerated prints, neon pops, pinstripe tights, pleats, plaid and frills were all present in the Betsey Johnson RTW 2012 collection and while you may consider this to be a bit over-the-top, this was actually a toned-down version of some of the previous luxury fashion collections we have seen from this energetic 70-year-old with gymnast tendencies (and talent.)... Nov 26, 2012 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari It seems as if the term “statement piece” has lost its luster over the past few years. With so many designers out there, many of us (myself included) have become seriously misguided, and it is now increasingly more difficult to determine what truly constitutes as a statement item. That being said, just one look at the vibrant and expressive luxury accessories from up-and-coming design brand, C/FAN, will undoubtedly steer you in the right direction – that being of creative and vivacious statement pieces.... Nov 19, 2012 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari It was 1973 when German-born Iris von Arnim began her career in fashion by starting her clothing brand along with nine other designers, whose ultimate goal was to redefine German luxury fashion and truly place it on the map. Almost 30 years later, Iris von Arnim is the only traditional brand left for which the founder remains head designer of the company, and has gained herself a reputation for producing some of the most plush luxury cashmere.... Nov 15, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh Yes, the Olsens are still all over the luxury fashion scene, from attending chic events like the WSJ Magazine Innovator of the Year Awards to getting ready to launch their Sephora fragrance in March. But while it seems like we see paparazzi shots of these girls all over the globe, their main focus is their fashion label Elizabeth and James. And contrary to what many predisposed opinions society may have of the twins who grew up in showbiz, you can tell that the girls treat this brand like their baby. In their ready-to-wear collection for fall, the Olsens keep up their good record by focusing on the needs of their customers.... Read More |
Nov 1, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh It’s November 1st, and if your closet is still stuck in summer mode, it’s time to start finally accepting that the colder weather is falling upon us. But luckily, the change of seasons doesn’t mean you have to completely overhaul your luxury fashion wardrobe. There are easy ways to slowly incorporate fall or winter items into your endless summer look to make an easy transition.... Read More |

The online “retail destination” combines the best international menswear with award-winning editorial content to result in a creative, inspiring space for purchasing high-end menswear. Oct 26, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh There are a few reasons why we love fall, and most— if not all— of those reasons are fashion-related. While sundresses and cut-off shorts are fun and all, there’s really nothing better than snuggling into the coziness of luxury fashion items for fall and winter. And while outerwear should be warm, don’t think that you have to succumb to shapeless puffy vests and down jackets to get you through the colder months. There are plenty of chic coat styles out there— and the best news is that these styles are fashion-forward but also timeless, meaning that you’ll get good use out of them for years to come....
