Jan 11, 2016 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich When Ricky Gervais hosts the Golden Globes, you know it’s going to be good. From the moment he approached the podium in last night’s award show, everyone immediately braced themselves for what would come spilling out of his fanged mouth. And he certainly didn’t disappoint, throwing jabs at everyone from Caitlyn Jenner and Sean Penn to Ben Affleck and of course, Mel Gibson. ... Read More |
Jan 8, 2016 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich There were some huge movies to come out in 2015 and most likely, you’ve seen the biggest. Despite its December release, Star Wars: The Force Awakens led the box office for the entire year by grossing a total of $750 million, with Jurassic World coming in second at $652M. However, plenty of flicks came out that we think were actually better than the biggest grossing ones and though some of them gained serious film festival and critical attention, the mass population didn’t flock to the theaters to see them. ... Dec 18, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Stefan Pabst’s YouTube channel is full of 3D drawings that are so hyper-realistic that you really do have to see him in action to believe it. While they’re all amazing, his most recent speed painting offering is by far the best, because it stars the coolest of villains, Darth Vader. Painting the costumed badass as if his mask has broken through a wall, the video is in obvious celebration of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. ... Read More |

The list of picks carry many obvious choices and a few weird surprises. Nov 9, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Spectre has officially dominated the James Bond franchise, earning nearly $200 million globally just this past weekend. After pretty much setting new box office records in every country it has opened in, the flick has pulled in $300M in less than two weeks. The movie has yet to debut in France, Australia, South Korea, Japan and China yet, so $200M is sure to rise dramatically over the next couple weeks. Not too shabby for the franchise’s 24th 007 film. ... Read More |
Nov 4, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Del Mar will be hosting the stunning Aston Martin DB10 from Spectre for exactly 10 hours tomorrow. The auto was designed specifically for the new James Bond flick and only 10 were built in-house by Aston Martin’s design and engineering teams. As you can imagine, filming a 007 movie is pretty rough on the cars involved and all but two DB10s were destroyed during the process. ... Read More |
Oct 30, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich The fourth annual Los Cabos International Film Festival is coming up quick and you won’t want to miss it. Centered around the tagline of “Come and See What The Neighbors Are Doing,” the five-day event may be pretty new to the scene, but it has already drawn some pretty big stars (like Reese Witherspoon and Rosario Dawson). With a slew of fantastic flicks, some we have seen and some we are dying to catch, we’re sure that this year will be even better. ... Read More |
Oct 27, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Unless you’re one of the fellas rumored to be in the running to play the next James Bond, your chances of filling the role is pretty slim. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t live like the famous spy for a few days. To celebrate the upcoming release of Spectre, Viceroy Miami is offering a new Bond Style package that will give you the chance to not only dress like 007, but to drive his Aston Martin DB10. ... Oct 23, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park is dead-set on making horror fans’ dreams come true. As one of the spookiest hotels in the world (you know, because of that little-known story, The Shining), it is a major destination for people looking to wander drafty halls in the hope of spotting some creepy twins. It already hosts the annual Stanley Film Festival and now the establishment has announced plans for a $24 million Stanley Film Center, “the world's first horror themed museum, film archive and film production studio.” ... The event is being put on by Van Eaton Galleries in Los Angeles and will feature over 800 items, including concept art, documents and rare theme park items from the 1950s-2000s. ... Read More |
Oct 15, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich For most of us, this will be the closest we will ever get to driving the stunning Aston Martin DB10 that was designed and built in-house specifically for James Bond. The sleek luxury car stars in Spectre, the newest film to hit the 007 franchise, and we can’t wait to see it in its full glory on November 6, when it hits the big screen! ... Read More |
Oct 5, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Scott Eastwood has been diligently avoiding doing a western ever since he made his acting debut in 2006’s Flags of Our Fathers, and considering he is sent around 50 gun-slinging scripts a month, that’s a lot of avoidance. His apprehension makes complete sense seeing as his dad Clint Eastwood basically created what we know of the western genre. ... Read More |
Oct 2, 2015 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich The 14th Annual San Diego Film Festival is officially in full swing, having kicked off on Wednesday night with a packed screening of Septembers of Shiraz, which was followed by a Q&A with star Adrien Brody. Based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Dalia Sofer, the film follows an affluent Iranian family after the husband is arrested, thrown into prison and tortured. If there’s one thing this film has succeeded in, it’s in making me want to pick the novel up, because it just has to be better than what I saw. ... Read More |
