Jan 22, 2013 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari Men, we know that there a lot of you out there that hear “men’s boots” and immediately picture a pair of Timberlands or Doc Marten’s, but trust us, there is more to winter boots than function alone. Winter boots can be a great alternative and fantastic middle ground to sneakers and dress shoes. Of course, we realize that spending time and energy on shopping for luxury brands is hugely unnecessary in many of your eyes, therefore we have created some easy steps you can take to make both your feet and your wives happy this winter.... Jan 8, 2013 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh One of our favorite luxury shoe designers is making fashion news as he unveils his first men's collection in London today. Nicholas Kirkwood Men's includes six silhouettes and ranges in price from $520 to $950— and in true Kirkwood form, they'll feature exotic materials like different types of leather, suede and calf hair. "The styles are meant to be simple in the pattern, and it really becomes about the material," the designer told WWD.... Read More |
Jan 2, 2013 | Contributor: Kellie K. Speed Every woman longs for gorgeous footwear, but finding a pair of shoes that not only look amazing but have a comfortable fit can often be a difficult find. That was until we were introduced to Anyi Lu. We recently chatted with luxury shoe designer to find out when she first became interested in fashion footwear, how she creates a comfortable shoe, and what makes for the perfect fit.... Read More |
Dec 27, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh Gingerbread cookies, holiday parties and gift-giving (and receiving) aside, the best part about winter is the luxury fashion items we get to wear, in our opinion. Coats and corduroys are great, but it's the amplitude of accessories that can make or break an outfit. Better yet, there are so many accessory options that may just allow you to rock that same grey sweater a hundred different ways. Read on for a compilation of our favorite winter accessories this season.... Read More |
Dec 18, 2012 | Contributor: Tina Stewart Fashionistas everywhere owe props to designer Louboutin for his ubiquitous red soles. He put brand identification by way of a signature shoe bottom on the map, and for that, we say, "thank you." Does sole design end there? A young California native does not think so, and is expanding on this well-seen area of the shoe. Using her aesthetic talent and bold patterns to adorn the often neglected undersides of a stiletto, Taylor Reeve is intent on spreading her art to the streets with her luxury shoe collection, TaylorSays.... Dec 6, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh Lady Gaga and Armani fans alike have something to look forward to in the new year: a silver platform shoe by the luxury designer will be auctioned at Cornette de Saint Cyr's fifth L'homme et son Univers on February 11. The single shoe, valued between $5,193 and $6,491, was briefly worn by Gaga at a Paris concert in 2010 before she threw it into the crowd. It will be auctioned alongside a Maddest Hatter Los Angeles black felt fedora that was made for Michael Jackson in 1984, a writing set owned by Marilyn Monroe, and an Hermès Birkin bag that once belonged to Hermine de Clermont-Tonnerre.... Nov 27, 2012 | Contributor: Jared Paul Stern Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, producer, designer and all-round tastemaker Pharrell Williams has partnered with super-stylish luxury footwear brand Palladium on an exclusive new capsule collection for the holidays. Initially founded in France in 1920 to make aircraft tires, the brand employed the same skills to make rubber-soled boots after World War II and soon after became outfitters of the legendary French Foreign Legion. Nov 16, 2012 | Contributor: Carly Zinderman Salvatore Ferragamo, grandson of the Italian shoemaker of the same name and chief executive of the Il Borro family estate, has been named Relais & Châteaux guide ambassador for 2013. The Relais & Châteaux guide features the properties that best exhibit hospitality in hotels and dining establishments around the world. The Il Borro family estate joins the esteemed property list, as do Schlosshotel Im Grunewald, an early 20th-century manor in Berlin designed by Karl Lagerfeld; Barbara Lynch’s Menton restaurant in Boston, and Michael and Lindsay Tusk's Quince restaurant in San Francisco. According to Ferragamo, "Hospitality and wine production, this is my life today."... Read More |
Oct 31, 2012 | Contributor: Kellie K. Speed | 18 Comments There are beautiful shoes and then there are Anyi Lu works of art. The must-have fall collection by the luxury shoe designer includes the "Vanessa" ankle boot and the "Rachel" calf boot. We love the uber soft aubergine suede Rachel boot handmade in Italy. Each shoe and boot is created using some of the best materials available and contains minimalist hardware and subtle textures.... Read More |
Oct 24, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh Last season saw budget-savvy women getting creative to get the kind luxury fashion look that only Christian Louboutins can achieve. While several ladies painted the soles of their stilettos red, one well-known celebrity did just the opposite. Martha Stewart alters her designer shoes by painting the soles black, and she’s not discreet about her personal fashion taste. While we’re glad that Stewart at least asked Louboutin’s permission before committing the ultimate fashion sacrilege, we can’t really find anything classy about the way she walked the red carpet openly expressing her distaste of the designer’s trademark to reporters.... Oct 16, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh | 1 Comment As if we don’t see him everywhere already, Justin Bieber’s face will now be plastered to billboards everywhere— with a big-name luxury fashion brand attached to it. That’s right: the teen singer with a die-hard fan base is the new face of Adidas’s NEO Label. And this isn’t a one-stop campaign: each week for five weeks, fans will be asked to participate in a contest — complete with clues from Bieber himself— that will result in two lucky fans winning an all-expenses-paid trip to meet the singer in person.... Oct 12, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle Keogh | 1 Comment Whether you’re running to hail a cab, booking it to Starbucks on your coffee break, or trying to make a dinner date on time, you need a good pair of luxury shoes to get you through the never-ending list of appointments you have this fall. While plenty of the fall shoe collections coming out from our favorite designers make us giddy, there’s nothing worse than those few pairs that are actual pieces of art on the shelf, but are basically unrealistic on our feet. Unlike skinny stilettos that make you feel like you’re constantly teetering, the new Autumn Collection from Carlo Pazolini provides sturdy footwear to (and through) your everyday activities....
