History has it that when Badrutt challenged his guests to visit St. Moritz in the winter, he offered to pay their travel costs had they not found glorious sunny weather. If they enjoyed their time, he would invite them to stay for as long as they wished. ... Read More |

Aug 16, 2013 | Contributor: Nicolle Monico | 1 Comment I’ve always had this dream of living in a real-life musical. I’m Anne Hathaway in Les Misérables and every time someone speaks it’s wonderfully melodic; or I’m selling papers on the streets of New York and luckily the other Newsies know just how to make me feel better — through song. My second dream was always the ability to go to sleep in one country and to wake up in another without so much as lifting a finger. I know, you’re probably rolling your eyes thinking that planes, trains and automobiles have made that dream a reality several decades ago.... Read More |

Mar 21, 2012 | Contributor: Steve Mirsky I found that getting fully acquainted with Zermatt, Switzerland goes beyond taking your picture in front of the Matterhorn and doing some skiing or hiking. It’s about immersing yourself in local mountain heritage at the Matterhorn Museum and taking a stroll through the narrow streets of historic Old Zermatt. Oct 20, 2011 | Contributor: Eric Meyers An early-season dusting recently rolled through some of America’s higher elevations, and seeing a touch of white on the mountain landscapes has plenty of people yearning for the chairlifts to start spinning so they can get some turns in. Skiing has long been the favorite winter time getaway for the country’s distinguished families, but there’s a handful of hassles that can ruin a day on the slopes.
