Lagerfeld Plans Strategic Debut of New Luxury Watch Collection

The latest from Karl Lagerfeld has us wondering if there's any sector of the fashion world that the designer hasn't dabbled in. His new collection of luxury watches, produced with Fossil Inc., will include seven core styles. The Karl Zip is a truly innovative design, whose zipper allows it to transform into several widths. Models will also be available with stainless steel bracelets, metallic leathers, pyramid-shaped studs and bold chains— and in true Karl fashion, the designer's signature profile will be featured on the crown. The collection will debut Feb. 28 to coincide with Paris Fashion Week and Lagerfeld's "world of Karl" store opening on Paris's Boulevard Saint-Germain.... Read More

Historic Watchmaker's Personal Patek Philippe in Geneva Auction

An ultra-rare Patek Philippe wristwatch formerly owned by the master luxury watch maker who created it will be offered for sale during Antiquorum's Geneva auction on November 11. The coveted piece with reference number 1463 with an asthmometer dial, thought to be the only example of its kind finished in steel, was completed by Jacques Golay circa 1950. During this time, he was working as a régleur in the atelier of Fils de Victorin-Piguet, part of the Patek Philippe group of companies. The timepiece carries a conservative pre-sale estimate of up to $160,000, but may well fetch much more due to its rarity and provenance.... Read More

The clean inner bezel sports an American flag motif with subtle stars and stripes, and a quote by Baltasar Gracian that reads, "TIME AND I AGAINST ANY TWO."
