Upscale Camping at the El Capitan Canyon

Luxury Campgrounds: The El Capitan Canyon provides a unique combination of wilderness and sumptuousness for travelers seeking an active vacation with a full docket of exciting experiences. Located in Santa Barbara, California, the area's wonderful climate enables guest to explore the beaches and go on hiking and biking trails year round. Activities include guided hiking, biking, rock climbing, surfing, kayaking, wine-tasting tours and yoga. Full-body therapeutic massages also are offered.

The El Capitan Ranch also has horseback riding through scenic trails and carriage rides. Full-care boarding facilities are available for horses. Additionally, four easily accessible golf courses are nearby, plus glider rides, whale-watching excursions, and sailboat rides can be arranged with neighboring recreational-service companies.

Guests stay either in luxuriously appointed cedar cabins or campout in spacious safari tents, which are situated on wood decks and have queen-size beds and nearby bathroom facilities. The largest tents comfortably accommodate four. The woodsy cabins sleep four to six and offer kitchenettes, wet bars, full bathrooms, fire pits and telephones. Some of the cabins have Jacuzzis too. All cabins and tents have individual fire pits and picnic tables. Cooking is permitted in cabins but guests must bring their own cooking necessities. Gourmet meals are served daily at the Canyon Market & Deli. Nightly lodgings in cabins range from $225 to $305, and the safari tents go from $125 up to $165.

Having the wilderness, creeks, and beach in one panoramic vista makes the El Capitan Canyon one of Mother Nature's breathtaking masterworks.
