Sports Adventures: All-Star Vacations

Luxury Adventures: Inside of most men, there is a little boy lurking who dreams of being a superstar sports hero. Age is of no relevance here. If given the chance, he knows that he could nail the buzzer-beating three-pointer from the top of the key; score the winning touchdown; hit the bottom-of-the-ninth-inning homerun; or smote the puck past the goaltender and score. Sports Adventures can supplant those lifelong desires with unforgettable experiences of a lifetime with its fantasy sports-camp vacations.

The Superstars of Hockey Fantasy Camp, which is at the Las Vegas Ice Center and the Monte Carlo Resort September 30 to October 4, 2007, is an example of a Sports Adventures package. NHL Hall of Fame attendees include Bobby Hull, Larry Robinson, Billy Smith, Brad Park, Gerry Cheevers, Bernie Ferderko, Dale Hawerchuk, and more. Games will be played daily against professional players, including practice sessions. Teams are drafted and a tournament is played out.

All players receive two personalized hockey jerseys, team photographs, and a video. There also is an opening- and a closing-night reception that includes an autograph-and-cigar party. Campers can either play two rounds of golf with the pros or opt for more ice time. Since these jocks are hockey players off the ice, teeing up with them could be a real opportunity to kick some professional-athlete butts.

The 2008 Minnesota Twins All Star Baseball Fantasy Camp is another package by Sports Adventures. This is an eight-day affair held at the Twins' spring training fields at Fort Myers, Fla., from January 8 - 20, 2008. Two MLB Hall of Fame players, Harmon Killebrew and Brooks Robinson, will be there as well as numerous past and present Twins players. Additionally, there will be a game played sometime during the summer 2008, in Minnesota, at the Metrodome.

There also is Boston Red Sox All Star Fantasy Camp scheduled for January 26 to February 3, 2008. It probably would not be a good place to wear a Yankee's cap. Football and basketball fantasy camps also are in the works. Check Sports Adventures' Web site for details.
