The "Suite" Side of Las Vegas

Luxury Suites: Everyone knows that when you travel to Las Vegas, it is the hotel which usually sets the course for your stay. The hotel's proximity to the strip plays a big role; there's the added convenience of dining in one of the hotel's restaurants; and the same goes for which activities- day and night- you choose to engage in. While some believe that any room will suffice, we know that you expect only the best, so we've searched high and low for the most luxurious suites in the city.

The Fantasy Towers, a $600 million extension of the Palms Casino Resort, offer their astute guests the option of staying in themed suites. Sports junkies and players alike can indulge in their fantasies at one of the tower's suites designed for over-the-top, Las Vegas debauchery. The Hugh Hefner Sky Villa- a two-story penthouse modeled after the Playboy Mansion- features an outdoor Jacuzzi pool, a media room, a gym and sauna, a glass elevator, an eight-foot round rotating bed, and more.

You don't have to be an avid bowler to enjoy the Kingpin Suite, which features two regulation-size bowling lanes. At more than 4,000 square-feet, the Kingpin Suite has more than enough space for its multi-screen media center, pool table, and requisite Jacuzzi. The two bedroom suite features hip retro furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The 10,000-square-foot Hardwood Suite, built for the Maloof's favorite NBA team- the Sacramento Kings- features a basketball court, a locker room, a scoreboard, a pool table, a poker table, a dance floor, and three NBA-sized Murphy beds. Customize your own dream team and let the Palms provide your very own team jerseys. Expect to pay a pretty penny for one of these Fantasy Suites as prices can reach up to $40,000 per night.

For travelers looking for a more tranquil environment, the Skylofts- a separate boutique hotel- located on the top two floors at the MGM Grand provide a luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of Sin City. Those who stay at the Skylofts receive preferential treatment from the moment they get off the plane and are chauffeured from the airport to their loft in a Maybach '62 sedan. With a Five Diamond Award under its belt, Skyloft services include a personal concierge and a 24-hour personal butler. The 1,400 to 6,000-square-foot lofts feature one to three bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, an Infinity Edge spa tub, a steam room with an "immersion chamber," an in-room Espresso machine, a $25,000 Bang & Olufsen TV, and custom-designed remotes throughout. A one night stay in the largest of the lofts, featuring three bedrooms and a billiard room, will run you about $10,000.

Like the Skylofts, the Wynn's Fairway Villas offer 24-hour butler service, but also come with the added luxury of the only on-strip golf course. Whether you want to play 18 holes at the Tom Fazio-designed Wynn Golf Course or cruise the strip in one of Steve Wynn's custom Bentleys, the Fairway Villas cater to even the most discerning tastes. The most lavish of the 36 suites are located on the first floor and are reserved for those willing to pay a king's ransom. All 12 of these beautifully appointed villas feature its own Infinity pool overlooking the golf course. With a private VIP entrance, the 3,000-square-foot villas come equipped with his-and-hers bathrooms and closets, hand-blown glass sinks, a rain shower, a secluded terrace, and several plasma TVs. Priced from $5,000 to $7,500 per night, the Fairway Villas are sure to impress.

Not to be forgotten, The Bellagio, welcomes its affluent crowd by offering lavish accommodations and top-notch service. Coming in at 4,000 square-feet, the Chairman and Presidential Suites, located in the Spa Tower, can be accessed by crossing a walkway that floats above a reflecting pool. Each suite features its own solarium, fireplace, L-shaped bar, indoor garden, and a separate boardroom that seats ten. The two master bedrooms are furnished with king-sized beds, private bathrooms and steam showers. The Chairman Suite is decorated in hues of deep brown, oak and Devonshire Cream while the Presidential Suite is colored in shades of chocolate, Macassar ebony, aquamarine and accented with jewel-toned silk fabrics. Highlights of both include a 14-foot ceiling, mother-of-pearl water walls, floating glass bar tops, and dining rooms covered in sculpted bronze panels. With its AAA Five Diamond rating, the Bellagio's standards of service are impeccable. Services include VIP check-in and seating at the hotel's best shows and restaurants, access to the VIP Lounge, limousine transfers to and from the airport, and 24-hour butler service. And if you travel with an entourage of personal staff, there are three separate 1,000-square-foot suites located on the same floor. Both the Chairman and Presidential Suites are priced at $5,000 per night.

While the Venetian may not have a Presidential Suite, the elegance of its Chairman Suite makes up for the loss tenfold. If you're fortunate enough to be invited or approved to stay at one of the Venetian's Chairman Suites (and can shell out $15,000) you're in for an experience of regal proportions. The Venetian, known for its opulence, went above and beyond when designing their Chairman Suites. Located on the 34th to 36th floors, the 6,000 to 8,000-square-foot suites boast an eight-seat theater room, a piano, three fireplaces made from Venetian marble, and almost more plasma TVs than one could count. The bathrooms feature onyx sinks, two spa bathtubs and steam showers with platinum fixtures. Guests are afforded just about any luxury they can think of as each suite has its own exercise room, dry sauna, workout room, beauty salon, and massage room.

With walls dressed in silk and rice paper, the Asian-influenced design showcases oriental artifacts, hand-woven Tibetan rugs, a dining area paneled in zebrawood, Murano chandeliers, and a mosaic tile entryway with a cascading fountain.

Butlers and housekeepers discreetly enter through the suites private entrance while guests on the other hand, get whisked away on their own private elevator. Located on the 36th floor, the exclusive Paiza Club offers private gaming and cigar rooms, a tea bar, and rare wines and spirits.
