Luxury Boats: Owning a luxury boat is without a doubt a status symbol. The only problem is that you don't have a lot of time to spend cruising around the world, and buying a boat means hefty responsibilities. There's maintaince and insurance, plus marina fees. If you're smart with your money-and we're willing to bet you are-you'll want to get the most bang for your buck, and still show off your monetary bravado.

Fractional luxury boat ownership with CruisingClub.com gives boating enthusiasts the chance to have a more luxurious boating experience while keeping many of the costs associated with boating at a minimum-now that's being smart. Here's how it works: There are different membership levels, including Full, Executive, Corporate and Owner/Developer.

Full members can cruise up to 21 days each year, (seven days every four month booking period) for the pre-determined life of the vessel, at which time the vessel resale proceeds are refunded to members according to the equity they hold.

Executive members purchase and own 20% equity in their selected vessel and have access and use of up to 57 days each year (19 days every four month booking period) for however long the vessel is owned.

Corporate members purchase and own 10% equity in the boat of their choice and have access and use of their selected vessel for up to 27 days each year (nine days every four month season) for the life of the vessel. Corporate members are also repaid 10% of the net resale value of the boat when it sold.

If you like to calls the shots, an Owner/ Developer membership is perfect. Owner/Developers initially purchase a fractional vessel outright, commissions the fractional, legal, marketing and management setup, and owns 100% or 50% equity in the boat. If you're considering purchasing your own luxury cruiser, and enjoy the idea of turning your boat from a depreciating leisure asset into an appreciating business, The Cruising Club Vessel Developer program could help you turn a hobby into profit-now that's being smart about your money.
