ss Rotterdam has been the flagship of Holland America since 1959, eventually finding a permanent port in Katendrecht in the Rotterdam harbor. After completing a full restoration in December 2009, the iconic ship reopened in February 2010 as a floating hotel at sea. On October 1, 2012, Worldhotels, a brand containing a portfolio of 500 handpicked properties around the world, added the ss Rotterdam to its exclusive list. The 780-foot vessel features 254 contemporary guest rooms with working desks, flat-screen TVs, Internet access and air conditioning. The new spaces accommodate up to four people and give a nod to their 1950s roots by way of a specifically chosen color palette and room shape. Guests can socialize at the Terrace ad Ocean Bar or dine at Lido restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Those traveling on business or pleasure will appreciate the 16 different meeting rooms and 14 banquet rooms on board.
