The skies over Chicago explode with colour, light and noise on New Year's Eve as pyrotechnicians launch a huge array of fireworks in Grant Park. Revellers come together at Buckingham Fountain and in the surrounding park.
If you're going to be anywhere in Chicago on New Year's Eve, checking out the fireworks and their reflection in Lake Michigan has got to be high on the list. The celebration begins at 10pm with recorded music, followed by the countdown and a huge firework display choreographed to music to welcome the new year.
