Annually screening upwards of 30 features and more than 100 shorts, the Chicago Underground Film Festival is held each year at the Gene Siskel Film Center. The programme also takes in videos, animation, documentaries and experimental cinema.
The event was founded in 1994 to showcase independent cinema that challenges commercial expectations. Previous programmes have included films ranging from blaxploitation retrospectives to punk documentaries and Greenwich Village-style experimentalism.
A Film Center membership is a year-round ticket to great movies for only $5 per screening! Memberships are $50 (Individual) and $80 (Dual). For more information, call 312-846-2600 or visit www.siskelfilmcenter.org.
