Join the colour and fun of Carnaval San Francisco as the city's Mission district is transformed into a Latin celebration of life every Memorial Day Weekend. It's San Francisco's largest multi-cultural event, culminating in Sunday's Grand Carnaval Parade.
Carnaval San Francisco celebrates global cultures, with music and dancing from the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Trinidad joining the likes of Mexican Aztec performers, traditional African drummers, Polynesian dancers, Japanese drummers and even giant puppets. Also highlighted are the talented communities of the Mission District and Bay Area artists.
On Sunday morning, the Grand Carnaval Parade features dancers in amazing costumes standing on fantastic floats, surrounded by drummers, roller-skaters, stilt-walkers and thousands of people out to enjoy themselves. Sound systems boom out the latest reggae, hip-hop and the hottest salsa, samba and soca tunes to create an intoxicating street party atmosphere. |
