The Holiday Train Show at The New York Botanical Garden is a fantasyland of lights, model trains and recreations of historic New York landmarks. Leaves, twigs and other botanicals are transformed into reproductions of the buildings we all know and love.
Stretching beneath a 30-foot evergreen in the lovely Enid A Haupt Conservatory, miniature trains chug past replicas of famous New York buildings, including favourites such as the Statue of Liberty and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
All models are intricately made from plant parts and other natural materials. The latest miniature addition is a model of the original Pennsylvania Station, with its honeysuckle columns and pistachio-bodied statues. |
