October brings the Miramar Air Show back to the San Diego area, which is quite a treat that anyone in the county should check out. Considering the base is one of the main locations for the 1986 masterpiece (yes, I said masterpiece) Top Gun, expectations and delivery are consistently high.
The 57th annual Miramar Air Show, this year featuring the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels flying squadron and a tribute to space flight, touches down Oct. 12 at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.
More than 700,000 airshow fans turn out each year for the free event, which opens Oct. 12 and continues through Oct. 14, with all-day shows from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and a twilight show from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 13.
