 Richard Shotwell/Invision Teenage actress Ariel Winter has to weather a tragic emotional storm as a Los Angeles court will soon weigh in on allegations of emotional and physical abuse from her mother. Striking at a critical time in her acting career, the sad and ultimately divisive issue of Winter's custody is being contested by the state, her aunt, her mother, and her estranged father.
A judge is scheduled to wade into the messy family dynamics of teen actress Ariel Winter and determine whether the "Modern Family" star should stay away from her mother, who has been described in court filings as physically and emotionally abusive.
At a hearing Tuesday, Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas will consider whether the 14-year-old should continue living with her sister, who has temporary guardianship of the actress.
