Glass Art Society
A Seattle-based art society was forced to cancel its annual conference, which was to be held in Boston, because of too many loose ends and too little time to tie them up. The society consists of 2,400 members and for the first time in 43 consecutive years the convention will be forced to skip a year. The nonprofit group simply told its members to wait until next year.
The Seattle-based Glass Art Society, a nonprofit serving 2,400 members in 54 countries, was scheduled to hold its annual conference in Boston this June. Instead, for the first time in 43 years, the group canceled its annual conference and told members, wait’ll next year. What happened, organizers say, wasn’t the fault of any one individual, institution, or agency but a matter of too many loose ends and not enough time to tie them together.
