Home to what was until recently the largest oil painting in the world; the Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museums is also one of the most culturally relevant locations in Atlanta. Dedicated to explaining and preserving the history of the American Civil War, and specifically the Battle of Atlanta, this museum has a proud collection of art, artifacts and photographs from this dark era in American history.
As one of the best museums in the United States based around the Civil War, this is a location that those with an interest in history flock to so they can see firsthand some of the items used by Confederate and Union forces during the bloody battles that took place over the course of the war. With an interesting rotating display of the diorama, a short documentary about the Atlanta Campaign and the large collection of artifacts and photographs, the Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum is a great location to spend an afternoon learning more about an important part of American history.
