Live plays are alive and well this summer at the Bay Area theater in San Francisco. This summer season will see some of the classics as well as new premiere performances, including Macbeth,Dear Elizabeth, Terminus, Wild With Happy, American Night: The Ballad of Juan Jose, Camelot, Arcadia, Abigail’s Party, Drunk Enough To Say I Love You?, and Sodality.
The Bay Area theater scene doesn’t rest in summer — on the contrary, the next few months will bring premieres, revivals of classic works and opportunities for audiences to bask in the sun (and fog) at outdoor productions. Here are some highlights of the 2013 season.
Wild With Happy
Tony Award nominee Colman Domingo wrote and performs in this comedy about a struggling black actor who loses his mom, spurns the rituals of grief and heads for the happiest place on earth. TheatreWorks presents the show’s West Coast premiere.
